Alert Deal!

These wines are one of the best "quality to price ratio" deals I have seen in a year. I was blown away at the flavors of all three....

All three wines were a private label deal that went south. The labels got screwed up - as to the final buyer's specifications - and you have the opportunity to profit from the mistake.

All three wines were blended by Tim Marson, a "Master of Wine", the highest possible wine educational title awarded in the world. Jancis Robinson and Michael Broadbent are probably the best known Master Sommeliers. Tim is one of only 28 Master Sommeliers in America - and there are less than 300 titled worldwide.  On to the Wines....

1.Xander Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 $13.99 (was to be $30)

The fruit comes from an old vine clone 6 Cab vineyard in Lodi. 100% Cabernet. Dark in the glass with aromas of blackberry, espresso bean, and loam. This is a super juicy, ripe, fruit forward wine with flavors of smoky oak, black currants, plum pudding, and mocha. Soft, mildly tannic finish that really lingers.

2.Xander Pinot Noir 2010 $13.99 (was to be $30)

From 2 obscure vineyards: one near Cambria on the Coast in central California and the other outside of Clarksburg both planted to Dijon Clones 777 and 115. Made by the former winemaker of Acacia in Napa Valley. This wine ROCKS. A nose full of cherry pie, fresh from the oven. Full bodied and silky on the palate. Flavors of blackberry, bing cherry, rhubarb, and cola. Long finish with a hint of leather.

3.Xander Zinfandel 2010 (was to be $30)

The fruit was farmed - and I would suppose vinified as well - by the boys at Michael David winery in Lodi, famous for their Seven Deadly Zins. Old vines in Lodi create amazing wines and this is one of them. Big, yet tamed. Briar, blackberry jam, and strawberry on the nose. Creamy mouth feel. Spicy black pepper, berries, caramel, baking spice, cigar box, and chocolaty molasses cookies.
